Instant Pot Korean Beef

This is the easiest Korean beef you will ever make with the help of an Instant Pot. The beef comes out tender and flavorful!  Serve over rice to complete this delicious dish!

  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 Tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder


  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 lb. beef chuck roast, cut into 1' cubes
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion, chopped


  1. In a medium bowl, combine beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, Sriracha and dry mustard powder.

  2. Set Instant Pot to Saute function. 

  3. Add oil to pot and allow to begin to shimmer. 

  4. Add beef and saute until brown, but not cooked through, about 3 minutes.  You might have to do this in batches.  You want the beef to brown not steam.  

  5. Pour beef broth mixture into pot with beef. Close the lid.  Set the pot to HIGH pressure and set timer for 15 minutes. Make sure the vent is closed!

  6. When timer goes off allow to release pressure naturally for 15 minutes.  

  7. Open vent and release the rest of the pressure. 

  8. In a small bowl combine cornstarch and water.  

  9. Turn the Instant Pot back to Sauce function. 

  10. Add cornstarch mixture to beef and stir frequently until sauce is thickened-about 2 minutes. 

  11. Serve over rice with sesame seeds and green onions as garnish.
